| CHIEF CORNPLANTER AND LADY DUNKLE
|
| Most of us remember the hikes to the legendary Cornplanter Rock, located in Dunkle Run, where the tale of
their wedding was told. Each rendition was no doubt different from the next as the tale was passed from each year to the next. We remember
the white pebbles which were pieces of their wedding cake. A successful toss, which hit the rock brought us good luck. The following was
written for the re-enactment of the wedding of Chief Cornplanter and Lady Dunkle to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Camp on July 25th, 1983.
It seems a fitting way to close the book.

| Brothers and sisters, welcome! We gather today in the town of Jenushadago to witness the marriage of our
daughter, Gyenserena (Lady Dunkle) to our son, Gyantwahia (Cornplanter). It is with great solemnity that we reflect on the past, savor the
present, and look forward to a beautiful future for this young couple.
